"A Russian court has temporarily detained an eighth suspect linked to an attack in Moscow," reports Insider Paper. The suspects are currently in custody, awaiting their trial, which is scheduled to continue at least until May 22.
According to reports, immediately following the attack on Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk last Friday, four suspects were apprehended for their involvement in this terrorist act.
Insider Paper has now confirmed the arrest of an eighth individual.
A statement from a Moscow court on Sunday evening revealed that four suspects are expected to be held in custody for the next two months as they await trial. It’s anticipated that more detainees may also be held during this period.
The individuals are charged with terrorism and could face life imprisonment. They will remain in temporary custody until May 22, with the possibility of an extension should the trial be postponed. Although a trial date has not been set, Meduza, an independent news outlet, reported that all detainees have confessed to the charges.

Attack in Russia

The attack took place at the Crocus City Hall concert venue last Friday, where a large crowd was in attendance. The assailants initiated gunfire, set the building ablaze, and then escaped. The tragic event resulted in at least 137 fatalities and more than 180 injuries.
The Islamic State Khorasan Province, also known as ISIS-K or ISKP, claimed responsibility for Friday's attack. This group was also behind a planned attack on a Moscow synagogue in early March, which was foiled by the FSB.
