Russia claims 337 Ukrainian drones downed in overnight strike
Air defense systems shot down 337 Ukrainian drones overnight. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, this was reported as the most serious attack in 2025. Nearly 100 unmanned aerial vehicles targeted the Moscow region alone.
Many of the reports provided by Russian media or government representatives are elements of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information warfare conducted by the Russian Federation.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, 337 drones from the Ukrainian Armed Forces were destroyed and intercepted by air defense systems overnight from March 10 to 11.
Massive attack on Russia
According to the Ministry of Defense:
- 91 drones were shot down over the Moscow region,
- 126 over the Kursk region,
- 38 over the Bryansk region,
- 25 over the Belgorod region,
- 22 over the Ryazan region.
Additionally, several drones were shot down over the Kaluga, Lipetsk, Orel, Voronezh, and Nizhny Novgorod regions.
The most significant damage was reported in the Moscow region, where drones fell on residential buildings, a parking lot, and a railway line.
Dozens of explosions in Moscow
Due to the drone attack, Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo airports near Moscow are not operational.
The capital of Russia was also attacked. According to Reuters, this could have been the largest Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow to date.
The governor of the Moscow region, Andrey Vorobyov, stated that at least one person died and three others were injured in the massive attack.
The information about the attack surfaced a few hours before a planned meeting on Tuesday in Saudi Arabia, where Ukrainian and American delegations are set to discuss steps towards ending the war.
