The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RFPI) announced that Russia and the USA have started discussions on joint projects related to rare earth metals. According to "Kommersant," some companies have already shown interest in these projects. Cooperation in this field is seen as crucial for both countries.

Near the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk, there are vast plants that produce approximately 940,000 tons of aluminum annually. This output accounts for 25% of Russia's production of this metal.

Kirill Dmitriev, head of the RFPI and a participant in the Russian delegation in talks with the USA, emphasized the significance of rare earth metals for international cooperation.

Following the initial meeting in February, Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested the possibility of involving foreign partners, including the USA, in projects related to these metals.

Additionally, Putin proposed launching a joint project with American companies concerning aluminum mining in Krasnoyarsk.

This is another step toward strengthening economic cooperation between Russia and the USA, which could benefit both sides.
