Russia and US to discuss Black Sea security in peace talks
Russia and the United States still have many aspects to negotiate regarding the resolution of the situation in Ukraine, stated Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. Referring to the ongoing talks in Riyadh, he added that Russia and the United States desire to "eliminate the root causes of the crisis."
Much of the information provided by Russian media or government representatives is propaganda. Such reports are part of the information war conducted by the Russian Federation.
Russian negotiators in Riyadh can contact Moscow if necessary, and work is ongoing, stated the spokesman for the Russian leader. Representatives of Russia and the United States will conduct further talks in the capital of Saudi Arabia, which began after 2 AM Eastern Time.
Peskov confirmed that the talks will address, among other issues, the security of shipping in the Black Sea.
According to Peskov, Russia and the United States "express the willingness to follow the path of resolving the Ukrainian crisis." Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States, Ukraine, and Russia have reached preliminary agreements regarding the resolution, which he described as "a draft deal."
"Apparently, there is talk of the willingness and readiness of the countries to follow the path of a peaceful resolution—there is indeed a common understanding in this regard… Overall, of course, there is still much, much more to be developed regarding various aspects related to the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis," Peskov told reporters, responding to a question on whether Russia and the USA have actually agreed to the general parameters of an agreement regarding Ukraine, or if Trump’s assessment is too optimistic.
Peskov cynically stated that Russians allegedly adhere to the agreement to cease attacks on Ukraine’s energy facilities. He did not mention that, just in the last week, Russia killed dozens and wounded dozens of people in massive attacks on Ukrainian cities.
Massive attacks on Ukrainian cities
Russians attacked residential neighborhoods in the city of Kropyvnytskyi in central Ukraine with drones. "Simply hell," reads one of the Telegram channels. On March 20, Ukrainian sources reported a massive Russian attack on Odessa. On March 23, in another night assault on Ukraine, Russia used 147 drones. According to the Ukrainian air forces, 97 of them were successfully shot down. Unfortunately, debris from the drones is falling onto homes and streets, causing death and destruction. In Kyiv, three people were killed, including a five-year-old child, and 10 people were injured.
