Marco Rubio, a former rival of Donald Trump in the presidential elections, has become one of his most trusted individuals in the government. He currently holds four key positions: US Secretary of State, National Security Advisor, Acting Chief of the National Archives, and Administrator of USAID. The "New York Times" called Rubio "the minister of everything".

Rubio replaces Waltz

Donald Trump announced that Marco Rubio will replace Mike Waltz as the National Security Advisor. Thus, Rubio became the most burdened member of the administration with roles. The "New York Times" notes that even Chinese leader Xi Jinping holds only three positions, while Rubio holds four.

The Transformation of Rubio

Rubio, once a proponent of traditional Republican politics, has transformed into an enthusiast of the MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement. He is the first politician since Henry Kissinger to combine the roles of Secretary of State and National Security Advisor. Kissinger held these roles during Richard Nixon's presidency, which was later deemed an unsuccessful experiment.

A White House official told Axios that Marco has a good relationship with the president, bonding over shared interests like wrestling and sports.

Rubio frequently appears on Sunday news shows, defending the president's policies and going on the offensive. "He's great on TV and that's what the boss likes," adds Trump's advisor.

Challenges and Controversies

Despite his numerous roles, the "NYT" emphasizes that it remains uncertain whether Rubio can play a significant role in the administration. He works with a president who fills the most important offices with his comrades, such as Steve Witkoff, a special envoy for the Middle East and peace negotiations concerning the war in Ukraine.

Rubio, who joined the MAGA movement after losing to Trump in the race for the Republican nomination, does not enjoy the favor of Trump's "old loyalists". They are waging a "backstage war" with him, trying to convince journalists that his position in the administration is not strong. However, Rubio's latest nomination casts doubt on that.

According to a White House official cited by Axios, Trump views Rubio as someone who delivers results and offers effective solutions when problems arise.
