Royal rift deepens. Hopes for reconciliation between Harry, Meghan, William, and Kate fade

The departure of Harry and Meghan from the royal estate, as well as their separation from the British royal family, has had a series of ongoing effects. The situation between the brothers remains tense as they struggle to find common ground. The recently published autobiography, "Spare," by Prince Harry doesn't seem to be helping matters. The 39-year-old highlights pivotal moments in his life in the book, but some of these accounts have caused widespread controversy.

Harry's statements suggest that a significant spat between him and William occurred about three years ago, reportedly over Meghan Markle. William allegedly perceived Meghan as "difficult," "naughty," and "rough." Harry defended his wife against such descriptions, and it's alleged that William even instigated a scuffle.

The relationship was further strained by the interview Meghan and Harry gave to Oprah Winfrey, as well as by the Netflix docuseries where they discussed their private life. The couple revealed the ways in which their lives have changed over the years and why they chose to step back from their royal duties.

Can the Relationship between Meghan, Harry, William, and Kate Be Salvaged?

Some experts and palace advisors believe that the chances for improved relationships between the two brothers and their wives are slim. They believe the situation has escalated too much, and the hurt caused is most likely irreparable. The negative attitudes that the four of them have towards each other is blatantly noticeable.

"Every time they have to meet, they'll appear simply uncomfortable," said Tony Quinn, author of the book "Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family," in a conversation with The Mirror.

Tom Bower, a royal biographer who published the book "Revenge. Meghan, Harry, and the War of the Windsors," shares a similar viewpoint. He examined the conflict between the brothers in his book, saying that "Harry and Meghan said terrible things about William and Kate. Why should they forgive them only for it to be used as a chance to strike again? Harry and Meghan are selfish, only thinking about themselves," the Mirror reports Bower as saying.
