On Friday, July 26th, a grand opening ceremony of the Olympic Games was held in Paris. Fans of this event closely follow not only the sports competitions themselves but also the social media of the athletes, who showcase behind-the-scenes happenings.
The athlete from the USA rowing team posted a video on TikTok, in which she talked about attempts to meet someone in the Olympic Village through dating apps.
Encouraged by videos seen online, she was sure she’d encounter single athletes participating in the Olympics. In reality, she had to face disappointment.
She started browsing a dating app. She didn't expect this
Rower Emily Delleman admitted that she installed Tinder for her stay in the Olympic Village. She expected to see single athletes on the app who might catch her interest. She had to deal with disappointment instead.
"I was lying in my cardboard bed the other day recovering... and I was scrolling through TikTok and I was seeing the girly saying like 'hey change your geo location to Olympic Village...' and I was like 'genius, I mean I'm here right now,'" Emily explained initially.
That's when she installed it and started browsing profiles. During her search, she came across only two other athletes.
"Don't get me wrong. You Parisian men are beautiful... but I went in with the expectations of finding some of my future plotlines," she confessed.
Apart from the disappointment in finding potential partners, Emily is thrilled with her stay in Paris. She praises the food, the atmosphere, and the Olympic uniforms.
