Since 1976, he immersed himself in the role of Paulie Pennino. The role of Rocky Balboa's brother-in-law earned him an Oscar nomination for a supporting role. As one of three actors (alongside Stallone and the late Tony Burton), he starred in all six parts of the Rocky films.
Young also gained considerable popularity from his roles in productions such as "Convoy", "Once Upon a Time in America", "Walker, Texas Ranger", or "The Sopranos". Over nearly 50 years of his professional career, he appeared in over 150 movies and series worldwide.
Interestingly, according to the actor's official biography, he himself was also... a boxer. The official record of his fights is 17 wins and one loss. Despite such a great result, he never achieved a major career in boxing.
