Robot dogs on Ukrainian frontlines: Cutting-edge tech in warzone

The Ukrainian army is introducing modern technologies to the front line, using robot dogs for reconnaissance tasks. These advanced machines, which are difficult to detect and very durable, assist soldiers in terrain reconnaissance, mine detection, and delivering ammunition and medical supplies. Thanks to them, lives are being saved.
The Ukrainian army already uses robot dogs as scouts on the front line. According to the portal obozrevatel.com, these modern machines can operate for up to four hours, carry loads up to 18 pounds, and move at a speed of 7.8 miles per hour, making them some of the fastest robots in the world.
The Ukrainian military has showcased a video displaying the robots in action on the front lines. The defense forces are effectively utilizing them in the Toretsk area, where soldiers demonstrated how their robot dog scans streets, conducting reconnaissance.
"Iron dogs," as Ukrainian soldiers have named them, are difficult to detect, and their battery lasts long enough to complete a reconnaissance mission. The robot can also be used for detecting mines and improvised explosive devices, as well as transporting ammunition or medical supplies to the most dangerous sections of the battlefield.
According to the portal obozrevatel.com, the robot dogs are a product of Unitree Robotics, model Go2 Pro, presented in 2023. The cost of the device ranges from $1,600 to $3,100.
They are equipped with numerous tracking sensors, easily adapted for military operations, and their low height and thermal imaging capability make them difficult to detect.
Robot dogs in Ukraine represent an innovative response to the needs of the army, offering new capabilities in the fight against Russian aggression. As noted by the portal obozrevatel.com, if the robot suddenly falls into Russian hands, an emergency switch allows the operator to erase all data.
The military has not yet shown the more advanced model (BAD Two) for security reasons. However, these robots are already being used on the battlefield and are praised by the operators of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
