"The recent wave of attacks across populated cities in Ukraine has resulted in a high number of casualties, including children, women, and men, and extensive losses and devastation," stated Denise Brown, the UN coordinator.
"Since December 29th, the UN has documented close to 120 civilian deaths throughout Ukraine and nearly 480 injuries. Each of these incidents has a tragic story of immense suffering attached to it," she emphasized.
Brutal Russian attack: "This must end."
Brown offered her condolences to the bereaved families and residents of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region, where a Russian missile attack on Saturday killed 11 people, including five children.
Denise Brown underscored the absolute inadmissibility of attacks on civilian areas, labeling them as violations of international humanitarian law. "This must stop," she asserted.
