Rising casualties in Putin's army: British intelligence predicts 500,000 deaths by 2025

The British services highlight in their analysis that the average daily number of casualties in the Russian army in 2023 saw an increase of nearly 300 soldiers compared to 2022, when full-scale war broke out.

This surge signifies the degradation of Russian forces. Putin's army, according to analysts, is transforming into a mass army with a reduced level of training. The analysts believe that the mobilization in Russia, which has seen untrained men being drafted to the frontlines, contributed significantly to the heightened losses.

British analysts estimate that Russia would take as much as ten years to recover from the losses endured in Ukraine, assuming the war ends soon, which seems unlikely at this point.

Experts emphasize that in less than two years of war, the number of Russian soldiers who have died in Ukraine exceeds the casualties sustained during the USSR’s nine-year intervention in Afghanistan, which saw about 15,000 soldier casualties.
