The season for fresh fruits and vegetables means our kitchen can be filled with many amazing recipes in various forms. This is also true for rhubarb, which you can readily find at any greengrocer’s or market. Therefore, it's the perfect moment to create something incredible from this seemingly unremarkable vegetable.
Although rhubarb is commonly classified as a vegetable, we often use it to create delicious desserts. This time will be no different. Rhubarb can become an engaging, creative, and tasty addition to homemade tiramisu. How do you prepare it? I'll explain!
This dessert will become a hit in every home. Rhubarb tiramisu has that "something"
Ingredients:
Rhubarb mixture:
- 1.1 lbs of rhubarb
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1.7 fl oz of orange juice
Cream:
- 17 fl oz of 30% cream
- 8.8 oz mascarpone
- 3 tbsp powdered sugar
Additions:
- 8.8 oz of ladyfingers
- 3.5 oz grated white chocolate
- A fresh mint leaf for decoration
Preparation method:
Step 1. Start by preparing the rhubarb mixture. Cut the rhubarb stalks into smaller pieces and cook them in a pot on the stove with sugar and orange juice for about 15 minutes.
Step 2. Next, prepare the cream. Whip the well-chilled cream with powdered sugar. Add the mascarpone into the bowl and blend it until smooth.
Step 3. Once all the components are ready, start assembling the dessert. Create the first layer of ladyfingers in a form measuring 11 in x 7 in. Spread some of the rhubarb mixture on top of the cookies, followed by a layer of cream.
Step 4. Repeat the layering process until all the ingredients are used up. For the final layer, place long pieces of rhubarb on top, which you previously cooked with orange juice and sugar, until perfectly soft.
Step 5. Sprinkle the entire dessert with white chocolate, grated using a small-hole grater. Refrigerate the dessert for a minimum of 3 hours.
Step 6. Before serving, decorate the tiramisu with a fresh mint leaf. And that's it—enjoy!
