At first, lentils might not make you think of pizza, but they surprisingly make an excellent, delicious, and healthy base. Those who need a gluten-free diet will particularly love this recipe. The lentil base is not only tasty and crispy but also rich in protein. Making pizza dough has never been easier—it doesn’t require rising, kneading, rolling, or stretching. It's all so simple, delicious, and healthy!
The Lentil Pizza
Green and red lentils are true health gems! They help prevent atherosclerosis, hypertension, and anemia. The potassium in them regulates blood pressure, and their fiber content helps reduce cholesterol. While nothing should prevent you from enjoying a classic pizza now and then, it's beneficial to include this healthier alternative in your diet as well.
Ingredients:
- 10.5 oz red lentils,
- 1-1.25 cups of water,
- A pinch of salt,
- Tomato sauce,
- Favorite toppings.
Instructions:
- Put lentils and water into a blender.
- Add a generous pinch of salt and blend everything until it forms a uniform mixture.
- Line a baking sheet with baking paper and spread out the lentil mixture into the shape of a pizza base.
- Place it in a preheated oven set at 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for 15 minutes.
- After that time, remove the base from the oven, spread tomato sauce on it, and add your favorite toppings—like olives, mushrooms, broccoli—and sprinkle it all with grated cheese. Then return it to the oven.
- Bake for approximately 10 more minutes.
Then, cut the pizza into pieces. Feel free to pick any toppings that you like. For example, I love adding slices of zucchini and a little bit of corn. The pizza is delightful, simple to make, and healthy. Enjoy your meal!
