Revolutionize your grill party with this vibrant Bell Pepper Salad

Although we often associate grilling with sausages, blood sausages, and pork neck, no communal feast is complete without a delicious salad. Instead of the usual Greek salad or potato salad, why not opt for a bell pepper salad that will surely delight your guests with its exceptional taste?

A simple grilled salad with bell peppers, onions, and apples will surprise you with its amazing taste. This combination is elevated by a generous helping of herbs such as dill and parsley, which are especially flavorful and aromatic in spring and summer. Since discovering this recipe, it's the only salad I prepare for grilling events because everyone is eager to heap a generous portion onto their plate.

Grilled Salad

Salads might be overlooked at grill parties, as some fear they won't stand out amidst the varieties of meats. However, it's a mistake to skip them. Vegetables provide a perfect counterbalance to the meaty flavors and add essential vitamins and fiber to the meal. If you aim for an empty salad bowl by the end of your gathering, this simple pepper salad is a crowd-pleaser that has won over my family.

Choose colorful bell peppers for the best visual and taste impact; sweet pointed peppers are particularly good.

Ingredients:

  • 3 bell peppers,
  • 1 small onion,
  • 1 small apple,
  • fresh dill,
  • flat-leaf parsley.

Dressing:

  • 4 tablespoons of peanut oil or olive oil,
  • 3 flat tablespoons of elderflower vinegar or apple vinegar,
  • salt and pepper to taste.

How to make:

  1. Remove the seed pods from the bell peppers and cut them into thin strips.
  2. Peel the onion and slice it thinly.
  3. Wash the apple thoroughly and grate it with the skin using the large holes of a grater.
  4. Chop the dill and flat-leaf parsley, aiming for a rough chop rather than finely minced—larger pieces of parsley enhance the flavor.
  5. Whisk together all the dressing ingredients in a glass or small bowl, then pour over the chopped vegetables and mix well.

Your salad is now ready to be enjoyed. It's an excellent choice for grilling events but also makes a refreshing side dish for lunches. Enjoy!
