Revolutionize your coleslaw: Discover the health benefits of a kohlrabi-based recipe

Coleslaw is a well-known favorite worldwide. This popular salad has established itself in consumers' consciousness as a desirable accompaniment to many restaurant dishes. It plays a crucial role in barbecue spreads and is a beloved side dish consumed alongside the American staple - the burger. The version of coleslaw we're about to present may not go hand in hand with the latter, but let's not fuss over it.

Our promise is that our coleslaw will be a healthier alternative to the classic salad - and it will be. This is all due to kohlrabi - an underrated ingredient that boasts a myriad of health benefits. Kohlrabi will also bring an unmatched crunch to our coleslaw, making it irresistible!

Kohlrabi coleslaw recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 kohlrabi,
  • 2 carrots,
  • 1 apple,
  • 2-3 spoonfuls of 18% cream,
  • 3 tablespoons of lemon juice,
  • dill,
  • chives,
  • salt, pepper.

Preparation:

  1. Peel and wash the apple, carrots, and kohlrabi. Then, grate them on a large grater. Transfer the ingredients into a bowl.
  2. Add chopped dill and chives, pour in the lemon juice, and add 2-3 spoonfuls of 18% cream. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Thoroughly mix everything together and taste. If needed, add more lemon juice and spices. Powdered sugar also works well in this recipe - you can add it if the salad is a bit too sour for your liking. Serve with your main meal and enjoy this crunchy, exceedingly healthy side dish. Bon appétit!
