Donuts with Salted Caramel: Ingredients Needed
- 21 ounces of cake flour
- A packet of dried yeast
- 4 yolks
- 1 whole egg
- A tablespoon of spirits
- 3/4 cups of warm milk
- A tablespoon of butter
- A pinch of salt
- Shortening or oil for frying
Filling:
- 6.8 fluid ounces of salted caramel
- 3/4 cup of milk
- A tablespoon of sugar
- 1 yolk
- Vanilla pudding packet
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Donuts with Salted Caramel: How to Prepare
- Prepare the dough. Mix the ingredients using a mixer. Once done, set aside and cover with a towel to rise.
- Roll out the dough and use a glass to cut out circles as you would for dumplings. Leave these prepared "circles" in the dough to rise further.
- While the donuts are rising, heat the oil or shortening in a large pot with a heavy bottom.
- Fry the donuts on both sides until they are golden brown.
- As the donuts are cooling, prepare the filling. Boil milk with sugar. In a separate bowl, mix the caramel with yolk and pudding. Then pour this mixture into the hot milk and bring it to a boil.
- Once cooled, cut or hollow out a hole on the side of each donut to make room for the caramel filling.
- Dust the completed donuts with powdered sugar.
