Banish unsightly stains in a flash!

This isn't any magic trick, albeit the outcome will be consistently stunning. All you require is some salt and:

  • A large chopping board or a dough board

or

  • An ironing board along with generous parchment

  1. Heat the iron to its maximum temperature.
  2. Scatter salt over the wooden board or parchment placed on top of the ironing board.
  3. Gently glide the iron over the salt in circular movements - delicately and patiently. You'll notice the salt adopts a brownish hue - that's the burn marks lifting from the iron!
  4. Repeat the process until you discern your appliance is clean.
  5. Switch it off and wait for it to cool down thoroughly.
  6. Clean it with a damp cloth or sponge.

Is your scorched iron already neat? Amplify the outcome with baking soda!

Sprinkle it on a damp cloth and scrub the iron surface until you accomplish the desired effect. You can also combine baking soda with water in a small bowl and immerse a sponge in this mix. If you give the iron a good, thorough scrub, it will be so spotless you might even glimpse your reflection in it!

Now that you're familiar with the method to revive a scorched iron, learn which kitchen products can prevent unsightly stains from appearing on your clothes during ironing!
