Revamp your kitchen hood with these easy DIY cleaning tips
Cleaning the kitchen hood is an important task that many people overlook. However, if we cook frequently, the hood not only gets dirty but also starts to smell unpleasant. How can you clean it using homemade methods?
The kitchen is a place that should be exceptionally clean. While most people remember to clean this room regularly, we often forget to wash the kitchen hood thoroughly. This is especially true for those who cook often and use many colorful and intense spices.
What to use to clean the kitchen hood?
A dirty and foul-smelling kitchen hood is not pleasant. Regular cleaning should be something we do at least once a week if we cook frequently. However, if we cook only occasionally, we can clean the hood's components, for example, once a month.
What can you use to clean the kitchen hood? Fortunately, we do not need expensive chemical agents. We can use products that we likely already have at home: water, white vinegar, baking soda, and a gentle dishwashing liquid.
In any container, pour three cups of warm water and a cup of white vinegar. Then, add a cup of baking soda and half a cup of dishwashing liquid. Mix the whole thoroughly.
How to clean the kitchen hood?
Begin cleaning the kitchen hood by turning off the device and wiping the exterior with a cloth soaked in the degreasing mixture. Next, remove the aluminium filter and apply the mixture with a soft sponge. Place the filter in a bathtub or sink filled with hot water.
Soak the filter for about 15 minutes. After this time, gently scrub it with a sponge soaked in the solution, rinse, and wipe it. You can also spray the interior parts of the hood with the solution. Leave it on them for 15 minutes and wipe with a damp cloth. Finally, put the filter back in place. Even old and sticky grease should come off the hood.
