Returning Russian soldier meets unexpected resistance from uninterested civilian at home
Russian propaganda generates substantial turmoil in the minds of its citizenry. Conscripts, many of whom enlist willingly, are informed that the conflict in Ukraine is a "special military operation." By participating, they're supposedly defending their homeland with the objective being the "denazification of Ukraine".

The gullibility mistaken for the bravery of Russian recruits has been consistently highlighted. These realities of warfare depict a grim picture where the conscripts are viewed as expendable assets by their superiors.
In a recent video posted by an Estonian blogger, Dmitry — who broadcasts on the X platform under the alias WarTranslated, we gain an insight into the Russians' perception of "war heroes." A uniformed, vodka-loving individual searching for companionship outside a local Russian store accurately demonstrates this perspective.
In Russia, an inebriated "SOW veteran" attempted to engage and subsequently insult random individuals at a store. However, things didn't unfold as planned, similar to the above-mentioned "SOW" - as stated in the description accompanying the pertinent video clip:
A returning Russian soldier from the Ukrainian frontline didn't expect such a reception in his homeland. He approached a young man outside a store who was neither in the mood nor inclined to meaningless chatter and self-aggrandizement. Triggered by the boy's disinterest, the vexed "veteran" resorted to hate speech.
Things took a sharp turn after that. The provoked young man transitioned from verbal responses to physical actions. The prevailing stereotype portrays soldiers as sturdy individuals — the usual contenders in a brawl. However, this instance proved otherwise. The young man, accosted and insulted, managed to confront the inebriated soldier swiftly.
A barrage of unexpected punches landed on the uniform-wearing instigator, leading to a swift knockout. The defeated man could only plead, "Don't hit me." The young defender inquired of the battered "ogre": "Why did you spout all that nonsense? Didn't I advise you to mind your own business?"
