Republicans regain Senate majority amid tight races
According to the Associated Press, Republicans will take control of the Senate based on current results in Senate races in Ohio, West Virginia, Texas, and Nebraska. However, it is still unclear how large the Republicans' advantage will be in the Senate or whether they will maintain their majority in the House of Representatives.

The majority in the Senate was secured when Republican Bernie Moreno defeated Sherrod Brown, who had held the Ohio seat for 18 years. This marks the second seat captured by Republicans after Jim Justice's predicted win in West Virginia, taking over from Joe Manchin.
US elections
Democrats had slim hopes of taking Senate seats from Ted Cruz in Texas and Deb Fischer in Nebraska, but these races ended in favor of the Republicans. This signifies that politicians from Donald Trump's party will have at least 51 seats in the 100-member Senate. It is also likely that Republican Jim Sheehy will defeat Democratic Senator Jon Tester in Montana.
The scale of the Republican victory might increase, but races in Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, and Wisconsin remain undecided, with Democrats defending seats. In Arizona, Democratic Congressman Ruben Gallego is the clear favorite.
Conservatives will have majority in the Senate
The return of Republicans to power in the Senate was anticipated before the elections, as Democrats had to defend more seats (every two years, voters elect only one-third of the Senate). The right's victory means, among other things, a greater chance for Donald Trump—should he return to the White House—to solidify the conservatives' advantage in the Supreme Court.
The fate of which party will have the majority in the House of Representatives is still undecided. Republicans are defending a slim four-seat majority there. So far, Republicans have secured 177 seats, and Democrats 144, but in most races, the clear favorite has won. The majority of the several dozen contests considered close remain unresolved.
