Republicans poised for Senate control, house still in play
Republicans are projected to take control of the Senate, according to the AP agency, based on the current outcomes in Senate races in Ohio, West Virginia, Texas, and Nebraska. It is still uncertain how large the Republican majority in the Senate will be, or whether they will maintain their majority in the House of Representatives.

The majority takeover in the Senate was clinched when Republican Bernie Moreno defeated the long-serving Sherrod Brown, who had been in office for 18 years, in Ohio. This marks the second seat taken by Republicans after Jim Justice's predicted victory in West Virginia, as he will take over from Joe Manchin.
Although the scale of the Republican advantage in the Senate could still grow, the elections in Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, and Wisconsin, where Democrats are trying to hold their positions, remain unresolved. In Arizona, Ruben Gallego of the Democratic Party holds a significant lead.
Return to power in the Senate?
According to forecasts, a possible return of Republicans to power in the Senate was anticipated, as Democrats had to defend more seats during the current elections. These elections span various states and, as with every election cycle, only concern one-third of the Senate. The triumph of the right could also impact the future of the Supreme Court, especially if Donald Trump becomes president again.
The situation is even more complicated in the House of Representatives, where Republicans are struggling to maintain a four-seat majority. So far, they have secured 177 seats, while Democrats have 144.
Many races that were expected to be tight remain unresolved, and most outcomes were consistent with the favorites' predictions. Reports suggest that the outcome in the House of Representatives is still undecided.
