Repel spiders effectively from your home using this simple TikTok trick with common household items

Arachnophobia is characterized by an irrational fear of spiders. It doesn't matter the size or appearance. The mere sight, even of the smallest spider, can trigger a panic attack in someone suffering from this fear. While not everyone has arachnophobia, many people still dislike the presence of spiders. If you want to safeguard your home from unwelcome spider visits, consider one of the methods below.

Plant near the door to deter spiders

Spiders are highly sensitive to different scents. Some aromas are appealing to them, while others repel them. Luckily for us, spiders do not favor scents that we humans usually find pleasant such as lavender and mint. If possible, plant these fragrant plants near your entrance door. If this isn't feasible, you can put them in a pot by the door or on outdoor window sills. Both lavender and mint give off strong scents that will deter spiders. Once they catch a whiff, they won't even try to invade your home.

Use this spray on doors and windows to repel spiders - a brilliant TikTok trick

Spiders are particularly active in the summer. They show up everywhere - in forests, parks, on the streets, and in our homes. If you want to prevent them from making themselves at home in your space, try this simple but effective trick from TikTok.

Kara, a TikTok user who goes by the username @karaskorner_123, shared a video demonstrating how she prepares a spider-repelling spray. It contains just three ingredients - peppermint essential oil, dish soap, and water. Judging by the comments on her post, this tip is truly effective. So, how do we make it?

Into a small spray bottle, add water, a teaspoon of dish soap, and a few drops of peppermint oil. Alternatively, instead of peppermint oil, you can use lavender essential oil, or even mix the two together. Spray the concoction on window and door frames, and all the corners where spiders might like to nest. This scent will not only repel spiders but also ticks, and flies. You should repeat the process every few days.
