Baked potatoes are not just a great addition to many dishes. When prepared this way, they're so delicious you can serve them with just one sauce, and everyone will be delighted. Potatoes with a flavor reminiscent of those cooked over a campfire evoke memories of summer evenings with just one bite.

Baked potatoes with a crispy skin

Nothing compares to potatoes wrapped in foil and thrown into a fire. They have crispy skin, and inside, they're soft and almost creamy. For many, baked potatoes are a nostalgic reminder of childhood, eaten with pleasure during summer evenings. You can relive that taste without lighting a fire, as everything can be prepared in the oven.

To recapture those childhood memories, you need just three ingredients: salt, potatoes, and all-purpose flour. The flour makes the skin crispy and reminiscent of campfire flavors.

These potatoes will be a fantastic addition to many meat dishes, but they can also stand alone as a dish with a fried egg. The preparation is incredibly simple and requires minimal effort, yet the result is astonishingly tasty.

Baked potatoes like from a fire

Ingredients:

  • 1.5-2 lbs of potatoes (or as much as you need for your family)
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt

Preparation method:

  1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly, scrubbing the skin. Do not peel them, even if they're not new potatoes. It's best to choose small or medium-sized ones.
  2. In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour with salt and add the still wet potatoes.
  3. Cover the bowl with a plate and shake well to thoroughly coat the potatoes with flour.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the potatoes on it.
  5. Bake them in an oven preheated to 400°F for about 1 hour, checking the softness with a fork. Depending on the size of the potatoes, the baking time may increase slightly.
  6. After baking, take out the potatoes and transfer them to a plate. Do not add more salt, as there is enough in the coating. After cutting the potato, you can add a bit of butter to enhance the flavor further.
