The Albino Echidna

Further reiterating in a post published on Facebook, it was requested not to disturb Raffie if you come across it.

This animal is just too beautiful not to share. If you see Raffie outside, we urge you to take a few photos, but do not approach, touch, or try to stop it – reads the post.

Touching wild animals could cause them to lose their scent trail, which can subsequently lead to difficulties in their natural habitat or even cause them to abandon their den and young.

Due to their rarity, albino echidnas are particularly susceptible to excess interest. John Grant, from the environmental organization WIRES, mentioned that he has only encountered such creatures a few times in his life.

In my 10-year tenure here, we've seen three, maybe four of such individuals – he told ABC News in an interview.

Grant voiced his trust in the residents of the area, hoping that Raffie will remain safe. A few people have already come across the unusual echidna, but so far, no adverse incidents have been reported. Everyone understood how to act appropriately in this unique circumstance.

The Australian echidna, or "monotreme", is a species of egg-laying mammals. Native to Australia, Tasmania, and New Guinea, the Australian echidna is one of the most common species of mammals in Australia. It inhabits various biomes, such as forests, savannahs, agricultural fields, deserts, and mountainous terrain.
