This unusual event took place on Monday, November 4th, at LaGuardia Airport in New York City. According to the "New York Post," a raccoon made its way through an opening in the ceiling and hung from wires in the terminal. The situation caused panic among passengers waiting for their flight and airline staff.

A raccoon ran around the airport

Recordings shared on social media show the raccoon hanging from cables as people slowly moved to a safe place. When the animal fell to the floor, employees standing behind the counter quickly fled.

The raccoon then ran through the security checkpoint area, causing further confusion. One traveler tried to catch the intruder using an empty trash can.

The incident generated numerous comments online. "This is the most typical thing that could happen at LaGuardia Airport and Spirit Airlines," remarked one user on TikTok.

The raccoon was removed from the airport area

A Port Authority spokesperson stated that the raccoon was spotted shortly after 8 AM Eastern Time. The animal was eventually captured and released outside the airport terminal.

To prevent similar situations in the future, the airport is working with a professional wildlife control company. "Airport staff are closely working with experts to monitor the area, identify potential entry points, and implement necessary precautions," stated the spokesperson.
