Tasty Carrot Patties: A Dinner Idea Not Just for Vegetarians
Ingredients:
- 1.5 lb of carrots
- 1 cup of milk
- 5 tbsp of semolina
- 3 tbsp of bran
- 1 stale roll
- 2 tbsp of butter
- Salt, herbal pepper, ground paprika
- 1 cup of 18% sour cream
- Chopped, fresh dill
- 1 egg
- Some oil for frying
- Breadcrumbs
- Extra milk for soaking the roll
Instructions:
- Wash and peel all the carrots, pat them dry with a paper towel, and coarsely grate.
- Soak the stale roll in about 2 cups of lukewarm milk.
- Put the grated carrots into a large pot. Stir in a cup of milk and two tablespoons of butter. Bring these ingredients to a boil. Then, let everything simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes or until the vegetables are softened.
- Remove the pot from heat and stir in the semolina.
- Mix everything well. Return the pot to low heat and cook for approximately 15 minutes. Be sure to stir the mixture frequently.
- Take the pot off the stove and season the mixture with pepper, paprika, and salt. Let it cool down.
- Well, squeeze the soaked roll and crumble it into the carrot mixture. Crack in an egg, and add bran. Mix everything gently yet thoroughly.
- Now, form the mixture into small patties or balls with your hands. Coat each in breadcrumbs.
- Fry the patties in well-heated fat on low heat, about 3 minutes on each side.
- Place the freshly fried patties on a plate lined with a paper towel.
- Prepare a sauce by mixing sour cream with chopped dill.
Enjoy your meal!
