You're probably familiar with the situation where both your stomach and the taste buds of your family members are craving something delicious. Still, you have little time for long baking sessions with complicated cakes. Let's say such moments are nothing new to me, and I've always had to deal with this time deficiency. Does that mean the only sweets I'll get to enjoy are the ones that cost a fortune at the nearby confectionery? Oh no, not.

Coping with the above-mentioned circumstances can be an enjoyable experience. The milk and biscuit dessert, for which you will find the recipe below, takes me fifteen minutes to prepare, and the oven does the rest. I haven't seen a better recipe for a quick cake yet. Try it yourself, and let me know if you get the same impression!

Milk and biscuit dessert

Ingredients:

  • 7 oz biscuits
  • 3 cups milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • caramel sauce (see here)

Instructions:

  1. Crumble the biscuits by hand. Pour them into a blender bowl, add the eggs, milk, and sugar, then add the lemon juice (better not to overdo it) and vanilla extract for flavor.
  2. Blend everything until you have a smooth and uniform mixture.
  3. Prepare two baking molds, one larger and one smaller. Wrap the smaller one in aluminum foil from the outside. Pour some caramel sauce inside, followed by the prepared mixture. Level it out.
  4. Place the smaller mold inside the larger one. Add water to the larger mold, approximately up to mid-height of the mold with the mixture.
  5. Bake for 50-60 minutes in a preheated 392°F oven. Take it out, let it cool, and add some more caramel sauce. Done!
