At the end of last year, Queen Margrethe II, in a New Year's address, announced that she was abdicating the throne after more than fifty years of reign. Two weeks later, she passed the power to her eldest son, 55-year-old Prince Frederick, who, as Frederick X, became the new King of Denmark. His beloved wife Maria consequently received the title of Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark, becoming the first queen in the history of a European country to come from Australia.

As part of their duties, the royal family recently visited Greenland. During one of the many meetings, dangerous events occurred involving Queen Maria.

The mentioned incident happened in the capital of Greenland. In the video circulating in the media, you can see Queen Maria standing in a crowd of onlookers when suddenly a scooter hits her. According to witnesses, the Queen appeared quite shaken but managed to stay calm and continue her duties without significant problems. The royal family's communications department confirmed to the media that a minor incident occurred but assured no one was injured.

It turned out that the scooter was driven by an elderly man who wanted to shake the Queen's hand but instead... hit the gas. As he later said, "he didn't know what happened."
