King Carl III himself was in a parallel situation not too long ago. He pledged his loyal service to his homeland with the world as his audience. He thus fully understands that this day must have been fraught with emotions for King Frederick X. Hence, he extended his special wishes despite his absence, expressing hope for fruitful collaboration between the nations.
"My wife and I want to extend our heartfelt congratulations on your ascension to the throne of Denmark. We eagerly anticipate working with you to reinforce the ties between our countries and our families and to collectively tackle issues that matter not only to our countries but the world over," - wrote King Carl III on Instagram.
He also had words for Margrethe II, who just ceded the throne to her son. King Carl III greatly respects her and frequently reminisces about his visits to Denmark.
"I honor the devoted service of your mother, Queen Margrethe II. I often remember the numerous visits to our countries, including a tour of Copenhagen and Elsinore in 2012. I was thrilled that you could attend our coronation last year, and I look forward to more occasions that celebrate the close bond between our nations and families"- he added.
