The adventures of the British royal family have captivated the media worldwide for many years. Recently, however, most of the talk has been about the royals' health problems, of which there are certainly plenty. Now, the spotlight is on Queen Camilla. The wife of King Charles III developed a serious infection that has significantly disrupted her royal duties.
The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, recently arrived in the United Kingdom on an official state visit with one of his wives. Naturally, the British royal family prepared a whole range of attractions for the guests. One of the highlights was welcoming the couple during a ceremonial horse parade at the parade ground. However, Queen Camilla was absent from the event.
Queen Camilla's health issues
It appears Queen Camilla still hasn't recovered from the severe infection she contracted during her trip to Australia, which took place in October. The schedule for the Emir of Qatar and his wife's visit to the royal court had to be modified because doctors advised Camilla to avoid outdoor activities due to her health condition.
The Queen will not attend the ceremonial welcome during the state visit to Qatar due to ongoing side effects of a chest infection, but she will participate in other parts of the day, read a statement from Buckingham Palace.
Although the Queen did not attend the ceremonial welcome, she was present at a special presentation and lunch at Buckingham Palace. According to "DailyMail," the 76-year-old revealed during the event that the chest infection she had was a form of pneumonia. Camilla also emphasized that she "still suffers from chronic aftereffects of this illness." A source noted that the Queen experienced a "significant energy drop."
