Arom Arunroj, a resident of the suburbs of Bangkok (the capital of Thailand), experienced dramatic moments when she was attacked by a huge python while washing dishes in her home. According to information provided by AP, the snake held the woman in its grip for two hours. A neighbor rescued her.

Horror in Thailand. A python weighing 44 pounds entered one of the apartments in the suburbs of Bangkok. The victim of the 16-foot-long snake was a 64-year-old woman, Arom Arunroj.

I was about to scoop some water and when I sat down it bit me immediately. When I looked I saw the snake wrapping around me, Arunroj recounted for the local newspaper "Thairath".

Thailand. Python attacked a woman. She was saved by a neighbor

The woman tried to free herself by grabbing the reptile's head, but it would not let go. Though not venomous, Pythons pose a significant threat due to their strength. They kill their victims by wrapping around the body and squeezing tightly until the victim suffocates. Anyone who has watched nature documentaries has certainly seen snakes attack cattle in this manner.

This time, the python targeted the 64-year-old Thai woman. Despite the dramatic situation, Arunroj sustained only minor injuries. She was in the python's grip for two hours until her screams were finally heard by a passing neighbor who immediately brought help. According to AP, officers arriving at the scene found an exhausted, pale woman wrapped in the snake. The police had to strike the reptile on the head with a crowbar for it to release its grip and escape, but they were unable to capture it.

Snakes attack in Thailand. Shocking statistics

According to government statistics, in 2023, 26 people died in Thailand from venomous snake bites, and about 12,000 were treated for this reason. Attacks by pythons on humans are very rare. These reptiles feed on small mammals, pigs, deer, dogs, and domestic cats. They range in length from 5 to 21 feet and can weigh up to 287 pounds.
