Putin's Kazakhstan visit met with mixed reactions, and the Ukrainian flag
Politicians from some countries do not adhere to the principle of isolating Vladimir Putin, as they invite the Russian leader to visit. However, he is not always welcomed by the public. This was evident in Kazakhstan, where Putin was "greeted" by a Ukrainian flag displayed on the opera house building.

Vladimir Putin made his second trip to Kazakhstan this year, focusing on enhancing the partnership between the two nations. As reported by Belsat, Putin highlighted various collaborative efforts, particularly in nuclear energy, which he claimed played a key role in bolstering technological sovereignty.
The invitation for Putin might stem from fears. Media in Kazakhstan believe that the government in Astana is afraid of potential American attacks on Russian bases in Kazakhstan. Furthermore, the authorities in Astana want to demonstrate that a "Ukrainian scenario" is not possible there.
Concerned about escalating tensions, Astana will host Putin on November 27th with particular pomp, as he is on a state visit, the highest level traditionally accompanied by a formal ceremony. According to journalists from the independent portal Azattyk, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will greet him at the airplane ramp, and an honor guard will be arranged in the guest's honor.
This is how Putin was greeted in Kazakhstan
In Vladimir Putin's honor, Russian flags were displayed in various parts of Astana. Belsat reports that a banner reading "Your Excellency, Mr. Vladimir Putin, welcome" also appeared.
Not everyone in Kazakhstan was pleased with the Russian leader’s visit. The Astana Opera authorities acted differently. A Ukrainian flag was displayed on the building. The incident did not go unnoticed by Russian propaganda.
Blogger and former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko reports that "Russian media said it was a hacker attack."
