Putin's deadline for Kursk liberation: Russian forces set October 1 target

According to information from the RBC-Ukraine portal, Russian forces have until October 1 to liberate the Kursk region, which cites its sources in the Kremlin.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has given his soldiers a little over a month to push the Ukrainian Armed Forces out of the occupied territories of the Kursk region. As RBC-Ukraine writes, citing a source in the military-political leadership, Putin decided this should happen by October 1.

At the same time, the action to recapture areas in the Kursk region is not to come at the expense of fighting in the Donbas. This means that the Russian command cannot pull the necessary units to the Kursk region from the Donbas, where the Russians constantly push forward and force the Ukrainians out of their defensive positions.

The Armed Forces groupings are conducting an offensive towards Kursk. During the offensive in the Kursk region, the armed forces moved deep into the territory defended by the enemy by a distance of 17 to 22 miles,” said Ukrainian Army Chief Commander Gen. Oleksandr Syrskyi on Tuesday on television.

According to the commander, the enemy is using maneuver defence to try to prevent the further advance of Ukrainian units, create new military formations, and transfer forces from other directions.

Further actions of our troops in the Kursk region will directly depend on the development of the operational situation,” announced Gen. Syrskyi.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called the Ukrainian troops' advance deep into the Kursk region "the biggest investment," providing an opportunity to ensure the return home of Ukrainian prisoners of war.

As reported by Reuters, Zelensky appealed to Western allies to allow the use of weapons provided by them to attack targets deep inside Russia. He explained that the lack of consent from Western countries in this regard is the reason for the Ukrainian army's problems, especially in the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine, where Russian forces have recently made progress.
