Putin warns Germany in its language. Things got serious

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin condemned the attacks of the German authorities on former Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder. In an interview for the program "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin," the Russian dictator condemned Schroeder's criticism and said: - I would therefore like to say that the further away from Schroeder, the closer you are to Anthony Rota, the speaker of the Canadian parliament, who is a sympathizer of Nazism. And if they hear me in Germany, I will even try to say it in German - Putin said, repeating his sentence in German.

Scandal in the Canadian House of Commons

Putin was referring to the Speaker of the Canadian House of Commons. Anthony Rota will step down from his position in relation to honoring the Ukrainian veteran of the SS Galizien Division, Yaroslav Hunka, in parliament.

- This public honor (Hunki) has caused pain to individuals and the entire community, including the Jewish community in Canada and around the world (...). I take full responsibility for my actions - said the outgoing Rota, a member of the ruling Liberal Party.

This scandalous situation occurred at the end of September in the company of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who was visiting Canada at the time.

In Putin's opinion, Germany should be proud of people like Schroeder because "he thinks about his nation and its interests."

Schroeder and Russia's attack on Ukraine. There is an investigation

Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, known for his friendship with Putin, said in an interview for "Berliner Zeitung" that the US disrupted "peace talks between Ukraine and Russia at the start of the invasion in 2022." Authorities in Kiev had asked him to mediate in peace talks in the first months of the war.

Schroeder mentioned five points of the peace plan being discussed at the time, which envisaged Kiev rejecting NATO membership, introducing two official languages in Ukraine, autonomy for Donbas, security guarantees for Ukraine, and negotiations regarding the status of Crimea.

- The only people who could solve the issue of war in Ukraine are the Americans. During peace talks in March 2022 in Istanbul with Rustem Umerov (the current Minister of Defense of Ukraine - ed.), the Ukrainians did not agree to peace because they were not allowed to. They first had to coordinate everything they spoke about with the Americans - said Schroeder, who was faced with a wave of criticism. Last year, the former German leader condemned the invasion as unjustified, but did not criticize Putin.
