Putin ousts Urals envoy amid kremlin shakeup
Vladimir Putin dismissed his plenipotentiary in the Urals Federal District, reports the Russian state agency RIA Novosti. Vladimir Yakushev represented Putin in this region for nearly four years.

Putin signed the relevant decree regarding Yakushev on Tuesday. The document did not specify the reasons for the dismissal; however, according to sources cited by RIA Novosti, Yakushev is set to join the authorities of the Tyumen region and the Russian Federation Council. He is a candidate for the deputy head of this chamber.
Shuffles at the Kremlin: Putin issued a decree
Yakushev was born in 1968 in Bashkiria. He graduated in law and finance from Tyumen State University. From 2001 to 2005, he was the deputy governor of the Tyumen region, and then, until 2018, the governor.
He assumed the role of plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in the Urals Federal District in November 2020.
The Urals Federal District is one of Russia's eight federal districts. It lies on the eastern side of the Urals, which form the conventional boundary between Europe and Asia.
