Putin dismisses Trump win: No congratulations planned
- Russian President Vladimir Putin does not plan to congratulate Republican Donald Trump on winning the presidential election, said his press secretary, Dmitry Peskov. "Let us not forget that we are talking about an unfriendly country that is directly and indirectly involved in a war against our state," he stated.

Many pieces of information provided by Russian media or state representatives are elements of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information war conducted by the Russian Federation.
Peskov said that elections in the US are "an internal matter of that country." "Relations between the Russian Federation and the United States are at their worst point in history, and their future depends on the leadership of the United States," he added.
The Kremlin denied having anything to do with interference in the US elections. On Tuesday, the FBI reported that false bomb threats directed to polling stations were recorded in four key states for the election outcome, and many of them were apparently sent from Russian email domains.
Peskov also stated that "Putin is open to contacts and dialogue with the United States." The spokesman also mentioned the "possibility of a phone call with Trump."
"The Kremlin will draw conclusions about Trump's presidency based on his first statements in the Russian context and specific steps. The Russian Federation will be judged based on American authorities' actions, and any possible discussions on plans to end the war in Ukraine are inappropriate," Peskov continued.
He stated that "Putin remains ready for constructive dialogue with the United States, but Washington is otherwise inclined." "Whether this will change will be seen in January," Peskov added.
"The United States can help resolve the conflict in Ukraine, but whether this will happen will be seen after January," the Kremlin’s spokesperson added.
