Violence in Moscow
On the eve of a concert by the band Piknik, armed assailants broke into Crocus City Hall located in Krasnogorsk, on the outskirts of Moscow. The assault triggered an explosion in the building, leading to a fire.
Online footage surfaced promptly, capturing the armed, masked individuals as they systematically and ruthlessly targeted unarmed civilians.
By Saturday, the Russian Federation's Investigative Committee reported that the fatality count from the incident had climbed to 115, with expectations for further increases. The predominant causes of death were identified as gunshot wounds and carbon monoxide poisoning due to the fire.
According to reports, the perpetrators, numbering at least four (with some speculating as many as 20), escaped the scene. Early on Saturday, there were unofficial reports about the apprehension of initial suspects.
