Ham rolls with egg filling

A perfect New Year's Eve party idea is ham rolls with egg filling. They're delicious, easy to prepare, and will surely impress your guests.

Ingredients:

  • 20 slices of canned ham,
  • 4 eggs,
  • 3.5 oz of yellow cheese,
  • 1/2 bunch of chives,
  • 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise,
  • 2 teaspoons of mustard,
  • 2 teaspoons of horseradish,
  • Salt and pepper to taste.

Preparation:

  1. Hard boil the eggs, cool them, then peel and dice them. Grate the yellow cheese using a grater with larger holes.
  2. Wash and dry the chives. Reserve some for tying the rolls and finely chop the rest.
  3. Combine the diced eggs, cheese, chopped chives, mayonnaise, mustard, and horseradish in a bowl. Thoroughly mix to create an egg paste—season with salt and pepper.
  4. Arrange the slices of ham and place a generous dollop of filling on each. Roll up each slice from the corner and tie it with a chive, or secure it with a toothpick to prevent unrolling.

Tips:

  • Canned ham that is square-shaped is the best choice, as it's easy to roll and doesn't crumble. You can also use round ham, but ensure it's uniform and sturdy.
  • If you'd like, you can add other ingredients to the filling, such as diced bell pepper, onion, or pickled cucumbers.
  • The rolls can also be baked in an oven preheated to 356 degrees Fahrenheit for about 20 minutes.

Present the ham rolls cold with your favorite sauce, such as garlic, horseradish, or dill. They make a great appetizer for your New Year's Eve spread.
