Pumpkin is becoming increasingly popular in US every year. And that's great because it's a valuable vegetable that should be eaten.

Pumpkin possesses a wide range of vitamins A, C, E, as well as minerals such as magnesium, zinc, potassium, and selenium. Furthermore, it is a fantastic source of protein and dietary fiber. Consuming pumpkin is recommended for anyone who wants to regulate their stomach function or lower their total cholesterol in the bloodstream.

Light and healthy

Pumpkin can be prepared in many different ways. The most popular are pumpkin soup and pumpkin pancakes. However, we can also use pumpkin to make a healthy and light snack.

Even a novice can make pumpkin chips. All you have to do is wash the pumpkin, cut it into smaller pieces, and then slice it into thin slices that resemble chips. In this case, the best choice would be the hokkaido pumpkin, as its skin will soften on its own while baking. If we choose a different variety, we need to remember to remove the skin before baking.

The sliced pieces should be arranged on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Then gently drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with thyme, marjoram, and a pinch of sea salt.

We put the prepared chips into an oven preheated to 350 degrees and bake for fifteen minutes. Ideally with the convection function turned on. Pumpkin chips are an excellent snack, which you can enjoy guilt-free, as they are light and low in calories. 3.5 ounces of pumpkin is only 34 kcal.
