On Saturday, several hundred people staged a demonstration outside the residence of the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. They were demanding his immediate resignation. Waving the white and blue national flags, the crowd rang out with chants of "to the box!"

The protest coincides with recently published opinion polls, indicating that three-quarters of the Israeli population prefer the resignation of the right-wing prime minister. Furthermore, 44% of the respondents pointed to him as the one responsible for the country's lack of readiness for the attack from Hamas.

Netanyahu has yet to accept personal responsibility for the shortcomings which enabled the terrorist organization Hamas to launch an attack on Israeli residents, on October 7th. The impact of the attack was severe, with over 1400 people killed, and 240, including infants and senior citizens over 80, abducted to the Gaza Strip, as reported by Reuters.

The Ongoing Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

The scenario is particularly critical for the families of the abducted civilians. Numerous demonstrators, rallying in Tel Aviv, tenaciously expressed their feelings, demanding the immediate and at-all-costs release of the abductees.

This Saturday, Hamas claimed that more than 60 of the abducted individuals have unfortunately lost their lives during Israeli military strikes on terrorist locations and infrastructure.

Recent opinion polls broadcasted by Israeli television suggest that over 60% of Israelis believe that elections should be conducted immediately after the conclusion of the war with Hamas.
