The British royal family has had no shortage of worries recently. For weeks, the media have been discussing the health problems of Sarah Ferguson first, then King Charles III, and then Duchess Kate.
King Charles’ sister hospitalized. What happened?
As if that wasn't enough, it was reported on Monday that Princess Anne was taken to the hospital. The king’s younger sister suffered "minor injuries and a concussion" due to an incident that occurred on Sunday evening on the Gatcombe Park estate.
Buckingham Palace issued an official statement about the incident. It revealed that Queen Elizabeth II's daughter is still in the hospital.
"The Princess Royal has sustained minor injuries and concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening. Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery. The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to the princess for a speedy recovery," we read.
As BBC was able to determine, the 73-year-old was likely struck by a horse. The incident might disrupt her plans. At the end of this week, the princess was supposed to start a visit to Canada.
