Prince Harry and Meghan's fire relief efforts go unnoticed
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been deeply involved in assisting survivors of the fires that have been raging for the past five days. Despite the Sussexes' charitable efforts at the evacuation center, the media only briefly mentioned their philanthropy.
The devastating fires in California continue to cause significant destruction. Last night, Eastern Time, local medical services reported 16 fatalities. The financial damage also amounts to nearly 150 billion dollars in material losses. Unfortunately, experts agree that these alarming figures are likely to rise.
Many well-known individuals are using their influence to support those who have lost their homes and livelihoods. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's efforts are particularly commendable. They are not only using social media to call for financial support and participation in various collections, but they have also personally assisted those affected.
Harry and Meghan's volunteer work overlooked by one news outlet
This past Friday, the Sussexes visited the Pasadena Convention Center, an evacuation center. Alongside Jennifer Newsom, the wife of California's governor, they served meals to hundreds of people gathered there.
Journalists from the Fox News station were on the scene, conducting brief interviews with fire survivors from Los Angeles. During the broadcast, viewers saw the governor’s wife prominently featured as she handed out food packages. The reporter did not exchange a single word with Harry and Meghan, and they barely appeared on screen at the end of the segment, seen embracing evacuees who were grateful to them.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have also contributed to humanitarian aid through their Archewell Foundation. Additionally, they opened their nearly 30-million-dollar residence in Montecito to relatives forced to evacuate their homes.
