President Biden addresses Trump as a 'loser' during APAICS Gala
During the annual awards gala at the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies, President Biden mocked his contr-candidate Donald Trump, by calling him a 'loser' and pointed out Trump's comments issued during the COVID-19 pandemic
The presidential campaign has been getting more fierce. Yesterday, President Biden called out his opponent, former President Donald Trump, for his role in killing a bipartisan border agreement as well as the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. It's not the first time during this campaign that President Biden so openly and mockingly criticized President Trump's actions.
Mocking statements of the President Biden
President Biden addressed the Bipartisan Border Agreement in his speech, which Democrats and some Republicans supported. He issued the role and suggested changes in the new version of the bill that had already been implemented. As the President further stated, by using the words "That other guy, that loser, I think he is having trouble," former President Trump is an opponent of the bill. He continued by highlighting that "Trump called Republicans to block that Senate bill, got on the phone, and said it’d be a win for Biden and a loser for him, so they have to make sure you don’t allow it to get to a vote."
The statement was met with laughter and appreciation from the gala audience, yet mixed reactions from the internauts—some called President Biden "disrespectful." In contrast, others admitted they "loved to see it."
The President continued by calling Republicans to vote in favor of the agreement.
The President held the light tone of the speech with yet another insult, targeting former President Trump's statement claimed during the COVID-19 pandemic. President Biden claimed he would "never forget him lying about the pandemic, telling Americans to inject bleach into their skin." He continued, asking jokingly, "I wonder if he did it. It might explain something." The audience greeted the utterance with laughter and applause.
Former President Trump's campaign office has not responded yet to President Biden.
Bipartisan Border Agreement
The already issued version of the Agreement has included over $20 billion for border security, addressing one of the critical issues concerning resources at the border and significant policy changes. The bill supported patrol borders by adding new Customs and Border Protection personnel and reforming asylums by adding additional Asylum Officers. The bill increased the number of detention beds in Immigration and Customs Enforcement facilities. As the White House reported, the bill also provided funding for new immigration judges. Last but not least, the current agreement touches on the contemporary phase of the war on drugs by funding the machine operating on the southeastern border to help detect fentanyl.
