Potato salmon skewers: An easy gourmet dinner at home
Sometimes, just a bit of creativity is enough to serve known ingredients in a slightly different way and create a dish that delights both in taste and appearance. An example of this is delicious potato skewers hiding salmon inside.

This idea is unusual for a dinner with fish as the main character. On the plate, it looks like a chef from a good restaurant prepared it. However, anyone can be the chef, as salmon potato skewers can be prepared in your home without significant problems. These fish bites are topped with a simple cream sauce with a lemon accent and parsley.
Potato skewers with salmon
Fish should appear much more often in our diet, and the best way to convince ourselves of this is to prepare them tasty and encouragingly. My latest discovery is simple skewers, in which pieces of salmon are wrapped in a blanket of potatoes.
They work great as a light dinner or elegant supper. I recommend adding a portion of vegetables, such as butter-steamed asparagus.
Ingredients:
- 4 medium potatoes
- 2 tablespoons of potato starch plus some for sprinkling the salmon
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 10 oz of salmon
- Salt and pepper to taste
Sauce:
- 1 oz of butter
- 7 fl oz of 30% cream
- Juice from half a lemon
- 1/3 cup chopped parsley
- 1/3 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of pepper
Preparation:
Step 1: Peel, wash, and grate the potatoes on a small grater. Pour water over them and set aside for 20 minutes. After this time, drain them thoroughly, rinse them with water, and add potato starch, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix the mass thoroughly. Spread plastic wrap and place the potatoes on it, forming a rectangle.
Step 2: Place a piece of salmon in the center and sprinkle it with potato starch. Season with salt and pepper, and wrap tightly, lifting the edges of the plastic wrap. The potato mass should wrap the salmon.
Step 3: Unwrap the potato roll from the plastic wrap. Heat oil in a pan and fry on both sides until the potatoes are browned.
Step 4: After frying, pour cream into the pan and mix thoroughly. When it boils, squeeze the lemon juice into it and cook for a while. Add chopped parsley and season with salt and pepper. Cook until the sauce reduces a bit.
Step 5: Cut the fried fish into smaller pieces and pour the sauce. Serve warm. Enjoy your meal!
