Porsche plans hybrid 911 Turbo launch with Varta batteries
The German brand will not showcase a fully electric 911 before the end of the decade. However, it will clearly focus on hybrids. The hybrid Carrera and Carrera GTS are already available, and next year, the Turbo is set to join them.

During a recent conference, Porsche's Chief Financial Officer, Lutz Meschke, confirmed that the hybrid Turbo will hit the market in 2025. Like the versions mentioned, it will use Varta batteries as part of a strategic partnership. A few months ago, Porsche announced plans to purchase a majority stake in V4Drive Battery GmbH, a subsidiary of Varta.
Porsche's spokesperson, Luke Vandezande, has not yet revealed technical details about the new Turbo. He is also more cautious than his colleague regarding the timeline. However, he confirms that the Turbo will indeed hit the market.
"We can confirm that we have, among other versions, a new turbo variant in the 911 pipeline. As usual, we will choose an innovative drive train concept for the highest-performance derivative of our icon. However, we are not in a position yet to confirm the exact timing," he says in an interview with "Motor1."
We should soon learn more details about the upcoming model, which marks another revolution in the Porsche lineup.
