During its Rennsport Reunion 7 festival, Porsche prepared many attractions, novelties and curiosities for both fans and the automotive world. One of the key points is a demonstration of the capabilities of the e-fuel being developed by the Germans.

Many people believe that the future of the automotive industry is not electric or hydrogen cars. Hope for not only sustainable mobility, but also the survival of traditional combustion engines without environmental damage, is seen in synthetic fuels. They are expected to emit minimal amounts of carbon dioxide (and in the best case, not emit it at all), and their production would be environmentally neutral.

Porsche, which has been conducting its own research on e-fuels for some time, has great hopes in this type of drive. It even has its own factory in Chile, where intense research is being conducted on the possibility of using synthetic fuels on a mass scale over the course of several years, and even a few years.

During its Rennsport Reunion 7 event, organized at the well-known American Laguna Seca race track in Monterey, California, Porsche intends to show the capabilities of e-fuels. However, this is not about performance or range, as these aspects are well-known. The main doubts about the new generation of fuels are their compatibility with older generation engines or those more performance-oriented, sensitive to changes in the mixture.

At this point, however, the Germans come onto the scene, who intend to use their e-fuels in media examples of Cayenne, in racing cars moving on the track, and even... in the first prototype of the 356 model - the first car in the history of the Porsche brand. This demonstrates the real potential of e-fuels. If lawmakers also notice it, they can really change the rules of the game in the automotive industry.
