Popular series 'Yellowstone' starring Kevin Costner now available on Netflix
Previously, this western series by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson was exclusive to the SkyShowtime service. However, on Monday, January 15, 2024, it made its debut on Netflix. It should be noted that currently only the first two seasons are available. The subsequent parts of the series, along with their accompanying spin-offs, may be added to Netflix in the future.
'Yellowstone' in a nutshell
The series centers around John Dutton, who, according to the official description, must confront his past, his family and politicians in an effort to safeguard his ranch from unscrupulous developers. He also confronts local reservation residents and other enemies who seek to claim his land.
Golden Globe recipient Kevin Costner leads a star-studded cast which features Cole Hauser from "Transcendence", Wes Bentley from "American Horror Story: Hotel" and "Roanake", Kelly Reilly from "Ghosts in Venice", Luke Grimes starring in the Grey trilogy and "The Magnificent Seven", and Gil Birmingham known for Twilight Saga and "Transformers: The Last Knight".
Taylor Sheridan, co-creator of the series, has also penned the screenplay for Denis Villeneuve's two "Sicario" films and David Mackenzie's "Hell or High Water", as well as recent series like "Tulsa King", "Special Ops: Lioness", "1923" and "1883". For the latter two and "Yellowstone", he teamed up with John Linson.
To recap, the series debuted in 2018 and concluded with the release of the first part of the fifth season last year. The second part is currently under production. Unfortunately, due to a dispute with Sheridan, Kevin Costner will not return for this segment. Reportedly, Matthew McConaughey, 69, is set to take over his role.
