The statement released Thursday evening said, "The Holy Father's clinical condition is slightly improving."

The Vatican reported that the Pope has no fever, and his hemodynamic parameters are stable. According to the statement, this means that the Pope's heart is responding well to the therapy used to treat his bilateral pneumonia.

In the morning, the Pope received Holy Communion and continued working. The statement added that despite his hospitalization, Pope Francis remains active and engaged in his duties.

There is no information on when the Pope might return to the Vatican. The decision depends on the further course of treatment, and the Vatican has not yet provided an expected discharge date.
