Playstation network outage leaves gamers offline worldwide
Is the PlayStation Network not working? You're not alone. If you wanted to spend your Saturday gaming on your console, we have some unfortunate news.
A major global outage of the PlayStation Network is ongoing. Thousands of users are reporting issues with services such as the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Video, and even online gaming.
According to reports from the Downdetector service, problems with the platform began during the night of February 7 to February 8. Several hours later—just after 10:00 AM Eastern Time—I still can't log into my PSN account, and the number of reports is increasing.
At 8:46 PM Eastern Time, Sony announced "possible problems for some users" via the X service. Over the following 13 hours, no new messages appeared.
The PlayStation Network outage has affected at least some console users from accessing online services, including those with the PS5, PS4, PS3, PS Vita, and PS Portal. Problems are also occurring on the website and mobile apps. Although you can browse the PlayStation Store's offerings, trying to add a game to the cart or log in results in an error message.
At the time of publication, there have been over 5,900 reports from the US, over 800 from Spain, over 3,700 from France, and more than 1,400 from Poland.
