The first cooler autumn days are associated with turning on the heating in homes and apartments. Initially, few people pay attention to fogged-up windows. Unfortunately, when the problem becomes more advanced, it may turn out that mold or fungi have appeared in our four corners. This, however, is not too safe for health, especially if we have allergy sufferers on board.
What to do to prevent windows from fogging up? These home methods are worth knowing
The first recommended action for fogged windows is to ventilate the room more frequently. However, this may not be the most pleasant solution when the outside temperature is low. So, what can be done to avoid spending a fortune on special moisture-absorbing devices?
A great product for absorbing moisture is... ordinary table salt. It turns out that sprinkling a handful of spice on a plate, which we then put on the windowsill, helps us in the fight against this troublesome problem. We can also measure the appropriate amount of product and pour it into a fabric bag, then hang this homemade moisture absorber on the window handle.
Chalk has a similar effect. All you need to do is tie a few pieces of it with a ribbon or string and hang it near places where moisture tends to gather.
The third method will be the use of silica gel, which we can find, for example, in a box with new shoes. It's about a small packet with tiny "beads". Pour the gel balls onto a plate and place it on a windowsill. In this case, however, you need to be especially careful. Such a constructed moisture absorber must be placed far away from children and animals! It is not suitable for consumption.
